What makes a knife "high quality"?

How many $50 custom knives do you own?

You did say you haven't come across 'too many that check all the boxes'....so I would think you own at least a couple.

Only one - though at present I can't find it. It's a tiny Kiridashi by James McGowan. Similar to the one shown here:

I have my own ideas... but I know many of us(you) will have different perspectives.

When do we get to benefit from your contribution to the subject of what makes a quality knife?

McGowan does make a nice knife.

Sarcasm won't work on me. ;)

Where do you see sarcasm? You said you had ideas on the subject and invited others to share theirs. You have not shared yours. You're not obliged to, of course, but it seems more than passing strange that you would elect not to participate in a discussion which you started.

Roger

dude, don't even think about #^*%@!& with Roger, he'll hand your ass to you if you're hankerin' for an argument:D:D:D

I'd be interested to hear your views on the subject too, that's why I asked!

Fit and finish
Materials
Construction (big one for me)
Grinds

We're all on the same page for the most part. :)

I am going to have to add price to the list though.

As much as I hate to admit it...it does play a part for me

dude, it plays a part for all of us. The more you make, the more you spend. I don't make much, but I spend too much:eek:
Relativity is alive and well:)

-Good Quality materials
-Sound design (in terms of an engineering standpoint)
-Fit and Finish
-Aesthetics (very subjective)

Anthony Sorensen, AKA BladeGoblin/Rampage Williams/Willy Sausage has seen fit to stir up the waters again, rather than flying under the radar, and has outed himself...thusly, banned again.

Not everyone that visits our little pond is a nice, responsible person, guys, something to remember.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Thanks STeven - as usual, you know the score.
