What makes you laugh about the knife community?

When someone posts the exact same picture over and over again.

Stereotypical knife pictures. "here is my knife on a rock with Moss on it."

Yeah, a wider blade is better cuz it's stronger in cross section? Always? Why don't you use your thumb instead of your pinky to dig out a really well stuck piece of dried up snot in your nose. The thumb is stronger but it won't fit in there to get that booger that's high and tight. ;)

Well said.
Most people are kidding themselves if they think that a small slim blade isn't more than enough for a non work edc cutting tool. Some people might actually need a large tough blade, but most really don't ( what we like and what we need aren't always the same )

Krelldoggy,

Wow !
If nothing else I think you may have set a forum best for number of replies in one day.

Is that right or have I been missing out on some other great threads ?

5. Wow, there sure are a lot of companies whose products are "mostly used by operators". Those special forces guys must be dripping with knives.

No, no they mean phone company operators. :D

I'm humbled. I don't think knives are usually all that funny, but knife people? Another matter...

Oh, number four: Lynn Thompson. Why? Lol. He doesn't make you laugh? Dude looks like a full grown twelve year old fat kid with a mustache, cutting up ham hocks. "

Hahaha
I hear yah . . . still . . . a person can't help the way they look. I was running marathons and working with concrete everyday and I still would get carded into my thirties. I mean what should I have done stab myself in the face or growl a lot ?

I thank Bob I don't have to fight an over weight problem.

but some part of me wants to say "cut those pigs, you majestic bastard.

That's when you are channelling Hunter S. Thompson I expect . . . scary . . . but hilarious.

The persistent notion that you need to chop and baton with 9 inch blade that's at least 1/4 inch thick to survive a backpacking trip.
And a two day overnighter trip at that.

Opposite of the mall ninja, you have the woods Rambo, that carries numerous axes, hatchets and knives to go on an overnight camping trip probably in the local state park where you aren't even allowed to cut anything down.
And as a "backcountry field test".

People using argument that some knife is superrior because is made in USA, even if f&f is worse than in $10 Chinese junk.

Zing. ;):D:thumbup:

When I see guys with high end custom Ti-framelock collections then see a vid of them driving junker cars (only vehicle too!). Talk about priorities LOL. (mostly the instagram types LOL). ;)

It's fun to pretend to be wealthy. :foot::rolleyes:

Here's a quick pic of my $5,000 Stan Wilson NFF and oops; my jalopy in the background LOL.:D
I drive a 3rd hand, 175 000 miles car. And I prefer by far putting my money into knives and outdoors equipment.
I'm one of those guys who shoot rifles with scopes that cost 5 times their wheels haha
The car will end up at the junkyard ultimately, contrary to my knives and shooting gear.

Priorities are different for each of us, but we are all united by the love of nice steel tools :)
Well said. One man's first priority in possessions and tools is another man's last priority in possessions and tools. Beyond reliability I really care for nothing about cars. Truth be said, even the wealthy would be well served by a used Honda and a used Camillus, but each of us has our own priorities. My priority? Good groceries.

People that say they EDC a BK2

I don't get the whole Mora thing either. They are great knives --the first time you use it.

When people post about their emergency room visits because they were being STUPID with their knife and blame the knife.

The "what's in your pocket" threads that show piles of stuff that some joker claims he carries every day. Sure you do pal!

When brands sell the "perfect" TACTICAL, MILITARY , EXTREME, OPERATOR , SURVIVAL, SPECIAL FORCES...etc.... knife that:

-Can't cut for crap due to sh*t edge geometry

-Can't cut for crap due to sh*t grind geometry.

-Can't slice for crap because it is ridiculously thick.

-Is ridiculously heavy so it doesnt matter how xtreme it is because nobody will carry it

-Is uncomfortable or VERY unomfortable, so nobody will use it.

-Is so ridiculously expensive no real soldier, survivalist or operator will buy it.

-Cant hold torsion and other tough forces on the edge, so there's no point in using it.

You'd be very surprised at just how many known brands do this. It's mindblowing. In my experience, like 80% of brands fall for this crap

I also laugh at the people that parrot that serrations are a no-no and that combo edges suck, when they havent used them.
