What Makes You Remove Pocket Clips ? Occasionally or Always ?

For anyone who cares I just tried it and the Ti Lite fits perfectly into a BUCK 110 belt pouch. Mine is a black one.
My preference would be a pouch with a metal clip to go over the band of a pair of shorts that I may not be wearing a belt with; or over a belt. I like the clip pouches because it is easy to unclip and put the thing in a back pack without undoing my belt. Also works in the winter for wearing sweat pants around the house.

Also this BUCK pouch would work for an open top pouch. It is deep enough to where, if you cut the top flap off the pouch, the knife would stay put really well (snugish fit; might need a layer of mole skin once the clip is taken off the knife or soak in water to shrink) . Of course that leaves the male half of the snap on there looking ridiculous.

? dril the rivet, add some kind of something or other to cover the hole and mark and make it unique ?
Ok . . . I'm thinking out loud . . . I'll stop

I hate clips. The only knife in my collection with the clip still on is the spyderco mantra and I'm still not sure why it's still there.

Took my clip off my insingo and carry it in a leather pouch. It's the only clipped knife I own that is clippless.

Benjamin, Marcus and all
But WHY do you take them off ?
Doesn't feel right is good but . . . performs better . . . ruins my clothes . . . signals to the world that I may be a wild, bar crawlin' , knife fightin', desperado might be a little more specific.

So far the only one I pulled off was on my Hold Out I and I like the knife better in my pocket with the clip and don't notice the clip when in use so back on went the clip.

I never take clips off. :)
They never seem to signal anything to the world at all...most people are too busy with their face shoved in a smartphone to care what anyone else is doing anyway. :D

I found a clipped sebbie to feel too chunky in the pocket when riding in a leather sheath. I've switched back to using a clip, but I found it carries good with the slip.

By not having it clipped to my back pocket I avoid snags and bending the clip. And I always carry another 1 or 2 knives and I don't like having clips sticking out of my pocket.

With something as hideous as the clip on the junkyard dog I'd rather fashion one myself. As crude as it potentially could be it would be a lot more pleasing to the eye than the original.

Stabman,

Too true.
I just assumed that was why so many prefer, I might even say . . . are obsessed with, deep carry clips. After all it seems to be easier to get the knife out with a clip that lets the knife ride higher.

I don't get it. If the members of the general public are that oblivious, why bother with a deep carry clip at all?

I posted earlier about how I always carry clipped now after seeing the light a few years ago .
Today I assembled a ZDP189 Delica out of an assortment of bits and pieces I had floating around , and just as I was about to attach the pocket clip I thought of this threads .
So..........
I will carry this clipless for the next two days as an experiment and a re-visitation of pocket carry .
