Does anyone know what model knife this is. It's on ebay but looks really rough.

Its a 282 NXT 1

Looks like that particular model ran from 2000-2005 but at least one other nxt variant went beyond 2005

IIRC, normal retail on them was under $30.00.

In that shape, me personally, I'd pass at $15.00 for one.

No way. If you are looking for a nice lightweight USA made Buck, you can get a brand new Bucklite Max (small) for the same price. The one you show isn't a collectors item and looks to have had a very rough life.

I might offer $5 but only so I could give it a proper burial.

Dave the blade does look to be in decent shape, but it looks like it all ready had a burial, and was dug back up. I think that I have two of that version. Not to bad for a small knife, but like you said I think that I would pass at 15 dollars. HL

That knife looks like a model 282 NXT I. That model has been discontinued for a little while now.
