Very good😆

My LM Charge plier tips had no problem grabbing three tiny thorns (like those pictured) so as to remove them from my finger. The thorns had gone right through the fabric of my work gloves!

Even I was surprised at how well the Charge tips are aligned. T-A

I notice you have both the P4 and Spirit MX, any comparative opinions? I've been using the P4 for a while as my primary EDC but also like my older Spirit tools, just no pocket clip or one-hand opening option; Swisstool fixed that with the MX and thinking on giving one a go...

I was like you & wanted to try 1 as well I have the swisstool x.
Honestly I would tell you buy a clip or have a nice custom sheath made for your older 1s.The victorinox are always at the higher end of price & for the mods you get I think rhe p series is better value.
Don't get me wrong it's a very good tool but victorinox could have done more with it.
The thumb "stud" is not at a right angle & is highly polished & the jimping is not very effective, slippery if wet. Being a lefty doesn't help but the P4 blades are easier to open, maybe a more traditional stud or disc with jimping like on the swistool lock release would be great.

With the blade you do lose a bit of size. Also it's a thicker saber style edge so not as slicey as a full flat ground traditional victorinox.

The scissors could have been changed back to more traditional victorinox scissors.

That being said it's a very good edc & Iike using it. For me when you get to the higher price point of multitools, rhe P series are better value for money in my opinion.
Hope this & the pics help.

Great feedback and much appreciated. I have one enroute, so trial and error first hand is never cheap, but it would be interesting to try it as a "pocket" multitool. I really like the P4, but outside of jeans or heavier pants, it's just a tad too big and heavy. I'm going to try the P2 as well, but I'm pretty dedicated to the transition away from a traditional single-bladed pocket folder and replacing it with a multitool as my EDC.

Just some minor observations, but the Spirit would be better with more traditional SAK scissors, they're kind of too small to do anything other than minor trimming. The P4 scissors are pretty darn good for a Leatherman. I do prefer the Spirit saw over the P4, yet I still like the more needle nose pliers of the P4. I'll have to do some in-field comparisons, but I appreciate your assessment and I'm hopping their one-hand blade opening isn't too bad. I do agree, it would have probably been more effective putting a more traditional thumb disk on the blade. We'll see!
