What next? (Looking for a strong mid-size folder)

I'm actually looking at the spyderco paramilitary 2, sage 2 and manix 2 (g10) but if almost want to say go with benchmade or get a kershaw tyrade (kind of a beefier blur imo) or junk dog. You have a lot of spyderco, they're great and all but try something else! I wish crkt used higher quality steel, because some of their designs are really great.

Well, I know I said that I wasn’t going to rush out and buy anything, but today I pulled the trigger and ordered a Paramilitary 2. I got the G10 camo scales and the FFG silver blade. Unfortunately, delivery won’t be until July 8-15th, but at least there was availability and I think I got it for a reasonable price. Considering I spent $60 on my Cat, I think $150 for the Para2 isn’t too bad (Canadian Prices).

I want to thank for the forum, as I learned a lot. The two non-Spyderco recommendations that really stood out for me were the Griptillion and the Buck Vantage Pro. Both look like a really awesome knives, and I may someday add either or both to the collection. I appreciate the comment that I should branch out from Spyderco. I just love their knives, and as I said, I greatly prefer the Spyderhole compared to a thumbstud. That said, I’m probably will branch out for my next purchase. Among Spyderco’s, I found that I really liked the Sage 1 and Manix 2. Either of those look like pretty terrific knives.

So thanks again, and I’ll post some pics after it arrives.

Interestingly, after all that, I decided that I may eventually add an Ontario Utilitac II to fulfil the heavy business role. I'm absolutely not regretting the Paramilitary 2 purchase, but I can see myself holding back on the down and dirty jobs knowing the price tag of the Para2. I think the Utilitac II looks like an awesome hard use knife, plus I'll be branching out from my Spyderco favourites.

Thanks for all the guidance and replies. My Para2 arrived yesterday, and it looks beautiful. Definitely glad that I added this to the collection. Now that I finally have it.... what do I buy next? :) Ahh, the thrill of the hunt! Also, here's my unboxing video:

You want one Salt folder next.

As I live right on the coast, that is a great idea. I was thinking about doing just that today.

Before I add another "set piece", I'd like to pick up an Opinel No. 8 and perhaps a Leatherman Wingman. I don't have a good multitool (just a Gerber - meh) and I think that an Op. 8 would make a good, low-cost capable folder for travel carry.
