What next?

Following up on what A Druid said... how about something along the lines of a LaGriffe? One that would attach easily to body armor ?

Dan, I tought about this last night (I had a little fever I think, but now I'm fine).

Could a K-tusk with a 4.5" blade and an extended pommer for lanyard hole be a good idea?

You have small knives, big MF knives, this could be a middle knife. Could call it the Kamp Tusk :p

Short sword or stout machete. 11-13" blade length with great toughness and good edge retention. A2 or a high carbon steel...

How bout some puukko's? Simple, but there seem to be quite a bit you could do with them as far as size and material selection go.

A gaucho knife would be great. I love the concept--shaped like kitchen knives, but a little more robust for field use.

 (I'm compelled to second an eskrimador's fighting hardwood :D). Personally, it's probably the first true breed of traditional "tactical" knives and has ever since left its mark on the culture that invented it. Used widely from kitchen food prep, to digging like a trowel to duelling among the plains-riders.

This one would rock!

I don't really want to chime in here, but the one thing I would like to see is a waki. Several others have mentioned the short sword/machete. I would like to see a nicely pinned wood handle (I picture a grainy cocobolo here) with a silk wrap. Forged and etched traditionally, perhaps, but with the elegance of a wood wrapped handle. So many creative options for sheath/scabbard, and even for tsuba/guard. Just my crazy Japanese craze craziness. I could send you some suitable pieces of 1085 and cocobolo if you want to get started. JK, if you ever made one I doubt I could afford it...

oh well, you asked:

o an honest to gods khukri without a cho, full tang, tapered though, good handle. perhaps an "ultra pen" or something along those lines.

o a golok

o a medium sized nessie to fit between your small and large models ;)

o a wharncliffe companion blade - extremely useful pattern in general

o some kind of icepick/awl

o return of the ulu!

o leuko/pukko combo

o perhaps offer up a special matched collectors set of some kind :)

o made an axe yet?

o how about a froe?

that's about it for now :)

Hello Gundy-
Liking the packer's knife. Good solid design.
Would also like to see a boot/chute knife w/ a blade a touch under 4".

I'd like something along the lines of BRKT's Aurora (maybe with some of their Northstar features). A good, solid, bushcraft knife. Full Tang, elegant pinned burl slabs, maybe some sort of very subtle finger guard and possibly jimping or ridges on the spine to act as a grip aid (possibly in conjunction with a slight rise for a thumb rest) and improve flint striking. Also, have a section of the full tang that sticks out the end of the handle that, drilled, would act as a lanyard hole, and would also aid in hammering, skull crushing, etc. Fully convexed grind, and I mean from the spine to the edge, with a graceful, flowing blade.

That'd be my knife! :)

what about a wsk style knife but small and straightened and elongated a little bit. this is a bit out of the ordinary it could have a back chisel ground type cut out I just think somebody should make a left-handed chisel grind something. in the front with a macro ground Appleseed grind penetrating tip. Probably a drop point designed would work.

Second. something I would like personally. but I don't know if there's a market for, a small gardeners knife, about an inch a half Hawk Bill with or without a point. Probably with a nice natural wood full-sized handle.

also, possibly a very small neck knife something that would look pretty much like a piece of jewelry, for carry in public and central Orange County. very small straight edge possibly slight Hawk Bill, s30v for preference/ and embossed or otherwise decorated leather sheath. Possibly a molded carbon fiber sheath if there is such a thing. But leather would probably work better if it could be made for this configuration.

I always wanted a Peskett weapon.
Its a kind of multi-tool for assassins.
It is a steel tube with a round "lollipop" head at one end for smacking people with, it has a button-release gravity type stiletto blade and a wire garotte.

A wood carving knife. Something along the lines of a puuko, but with a shorter, slim sheepsfoot or modified wharncliff shape. Simple, elegant, comfortable to hold for long periods and made of carbon steel. Might not be a lot of demand for them though.

I see puukko suggestions popping up. You like traditional knives, and puukkos are pretty darn traditional.

The nessies you've been making with a scandi grind are kinda in that direction, but a mid-size puukko with a 4-6" blade would be great!
