What old patterns would you like to see made again?

I'd like to see some 2 bladed English Jacks
and Eureka Jacks, with a spear main blade.
The spear blade was much more common back
in the 20's 30's & 40's. Now most large
slipjoints seem to have clip blades.

What would be your choice if you could
have any old pattern brought back?

I would really like to see Jumbo and Oval Whittlers make a comeback. I love the lines of these knives. Also the three blade Physician's knife and the Norfolk Whittler. I really like the shape of the main blade on the Norfolk.

I'd like to see more, for lack of a better word, Super Stockman(greater than 4 1/4). I'd also like to see more 4 & 5 blade models available.

I'd also like to see the re-introduction of the "Rail-Splitter" handle shape.

:).

I would like to see the lobster pattern be revived. The only thing that comes close right now is the Victorinox Classic. I would also like to see a revival of pen patterns with one pen blade and a nail file.

I'd like to see a revival of the large two-bladed folding hunters. You know, the ones with one clip point blade and one upswept skinning blade.

I used to carry one of these in my back pocket all the time. Times have sure changed, because I used to take it out at school and sharpen pencils and nobody thought a thing about it.

They are also mighty handy in the woods dressing out deer and other game.

Heavy or Bullet Trappers.

Texas Jack.

I would like to see some clasp knives like the Case bulldog pattern.
Rebus777, Queen produced many different two bladed English Jacks in their Schatt & Morgan line with spear master blades recently. Some of them have ATS-34 main blade. They are still available for example at A.G. Russell's store.

Blues, here is a heavy trapper:

Bob bowie, at http://ndsproducts.com
you might find some 5 1/2" bone handled German (Bulldog brand) presentation stockman knives.
They also have 5 1/8" presentation trappers, 5 1/4" exhibition whittlers, and 5 blade (4 1/4") stockman. They carry 3 blade trappers too!

BTW. the above listed company has nice slipjoints from many more companies.

Coonskinner, Queen's new D2 steel series include some large folding hunters.

Yes Littleknife, I have seen these knives, but
I would like some made by Camillus, Bulldog
or Case more in the $45 to $65 range.

I sort of believe that A.G. Russell nearly
doubles the price of their knives just for
the Snob Value... Not that a Queen would not
be worth that ($100).

Or, maybe I'm just tight.

I would love to see someone make a 2-blade true teardrop pattern with a spear master blade, long pull, cut swedges. And if they put ebony scales on it I would like it even more.

Coonskinner, you really should look at Queen's new line. They have a 2-blade folding hunter with D2 blades, in cocobolo and bone handles.

The one slippie I'd love to see made again is called a
"Hawbecker" design. It's a double end 4" slim knife with
a long wharncliff on one end and a slim sleek california
clip on the other. The closest I've ever come to finding
one is the dis-continued Buck 313 muskrat with a
california clip and a spey combo. Nice knife I just
wish it had the wharncliff instead of the spey.

This one is a John Primble from Blue Grass Cutlery I found on the web.

Try doing a search on the net under "Hawbaker Muskrat". You might find what you're looking for. Or maybe Gus can help direct you.

Blues, Many thank's , mate. I'll do that. I've found
a similat knife at A.G.Russell's also just don't care
much for Ats-34. If it was Aus-8 I'd be carrying one
now.
