What one thing do you wish your Leatherman had?

I alway's thought it would be handy if leatherman put a ink pen on one of there multi-tools.

Maybe the Juice Pro II will have one. ;)

What thing would you like to see on a Leatherman?

I wish the awl blade was factory pre-sharpened on the Leatherman multitools as it is on the Victorinox Swiss Army knives.

More saw and file blades. They can even leave off he knife - I carry one anyway.

A neat idea might be removable pivot screws and loose blades so you can mix and match. No need to duplicate anything on my SAK.

I prefer my leatherman in almost every way to a SAK (don't get me wrong I love Victorinox!) but with that said I wish leatherman would incorporate the extras that are found in the scales like tweezers, toothpick, and a pen. As a general aside, the corkscrew on models like the Juice CS4 will hold the mini screwdriver from Victorinox perfectly!

Victorinox stamped on the blade :D

If Leatherman had stayed with its PST, Supertool and Micra I would have been completely satisfied. These are simple, robust and contain everything I need, nothing I don't. The Supertool 200 added a bit more handle comfort and lock release convenience , but with increased complexity. It's okay, I use one these days, but if anything, I prefer the original.

Some folks consider these tools crude, but I find them classic. Too bad market competition forces Leatherman to come up with "clever" new features and gimmicks. When it comes to elegance, Victorinox does those things better, anyway. If I were running things, Leatherman would supply the tools, Vic the toys. Oh, well.

Although designing for pens, toothpicks and suchlike would add much complexity to the basic Leatherman concept, the Juice corkscrew might be just the place to hold some sort of module that would contain these things.
Meanwhile, a Vic Classic or similar attached to a keychain supplies them, so you really can have it all.

A decent blade grind! I don't mind the average blade steel, that's all that MOST of the market wants and I usually carry a second pure cutter when I have my Leatherman with me. But lately I've been carrying the Micra I got for Xmas quite a bit. God, I HATE that stupid wedge grind they put on it. Same as on my Squirt!

Well L'Man still has the basic tools cept now they are called Kick(PST) Fuse(PSTII) Blast (Pulse)........albiet at a better price point and only the Kick doesn't have locking blades but they are way more comfortable on the hands now IMHO

Those Zytel inserts are very nice and the lock releases on the Fuse and Blast are better than on the ST 200. But neither the Kick nor Fuse come with a file and none of them provide an awl. Both of these implements are useful to me, and I would rather have them than those dinky scissors on the Blast and Fuse. Back then I passed on the PST II for that reason, although the scissors on it are, at least, somewhat better than their replacement. My favorite LT scissors is the Micra, always with me whatever else I'm toting, so it doesn't matter if my grown-up Leathermen are so equipped.

These are subjective concerns, to be sure. My son loves his PST II, uses the hell out of it and never misses the awl. As for me, I want it awl!

Can't we awl just... get along? :)

Strange, that. My first Micra (of many, I keep giving them away) came with a regular 2 sided bevel. I was surprised to find its replacement with a chisel ground blade. When I contacted Leatherman, they assured me all production runs were exactly the same. So I can only speculate. Maybe it was a sample that had been a recycled return with the blade modified, or maybe I imagined the whole thing.

I agree about the chisel grind, though. It is easily remedied by sharpening both sides. Thanks to the "average" steel, I found it a simple task for my Sharpmaker.

Slip-joint pliers. Many quick fix plumbing repairs require jaws which open slightly more than what you get from standard Leathermans. For use around the house it's not a big deal, but I could really use them at work;)

I think I would have to say a #0 phillips for taking laptops apart. Maybe even a decent #00. I still haven't found a screw that the eyeglass screwdriver will work in.

I would want a built in cloning device. Keep one in the drawer and every morning pull out a brand new copy. Never worry about losing one again. Hey one can dream can't they.

How about non-security torx fasteners? I'd sure like to be able to loosen, tighten, or swap implements.

the newer ones have six point security torx which is widely available

Really? Where? I'd love to be able to adjust my Surge, or maybe even swap that stupid eyeglass driver for a longer reach philips scavenged from another tool.
