  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

what other brand are you fanboys of?

I don't really buy many knives. The only production knife I own is a SAK Farmer. Semi-production I have a Swamp Rat Howling Rat LM. Custom I have a Gossman PSK and a Koster bushcraft on order. Right now I can only afford to drool over knives but they are ALL custom makers here. Fiddleback, ML, Magnussen, JK handmade, Bailey and a few I probably forgot but go "Oh that's nice!" in their for sale threads.:D I don't really look at production blades anymore.

As far as factory knives go, I like vintage Buck.

Recently, I have only bought fiddleback and JK knives.

John at JK will literally build me anything I design, and he is really good at
getting the details correct.

Andy makes the nicest looking knives I have ever seen.
He is almost too good; the handle variations/possibilities have no limits, with each one as nice as the next.

Between these two guys, I am pretty much set.

Thanks bro!! I like John's stuff too. I wish he lived closer, and we could work together occasionally.

You are very welcome. The woodsman you made for me is a work of art.

My wife, who is pretty much indifferent to knives at this point, constantly comments on it when I have it out.

Out of all my knives (I have hundreds), she likes that woodsman, my JK R.U.S.K. (which I designed), and anything Colonel Applegate designed.
That's pretty much it. Everything else is the same, in her eyes.

The woodsman handle matches the grips of my 1911, which she picked up on as soon as the woodsman arrived.

I don't have any production fixed blades, all customs, except for my Moras, a Spyderco kitchen knife and a few Old Hickory kitchen knives. I figure that laying in my tacklebox all winter doesn't constitute use though, for my Moras.

I am looking at getting a Helle Grizzly. Other than that, custom is the way to go these days.
