I have been reading "The Backwoodsman" for about two years now and I really enjoy it. The other day I found another magazine that interest me, it's called "Wilderness Way,primitive skills, earth wisdom, self reliance " and it is really neat. The contents of this particular issue include Track ID, The Skookum Bush tool( a really cool looking bushcraft knife), building a lean-to, making a melon basket, and making milkweed cordage. Its worth a look if you can find one:thumbup:

"The Backwoodsman"...my all-time favorite! I have a multi-year subscription to that one...in fact, it's the ONLY magazine subscription I have!

I've got a subscription to wilderness way, and i really like it. I'll have to check out Backwoodsman.

Not quite as rustic as Backwoodsman, but I get Outside, National Geographic Adventure, Climbing, and Urban Climbing.

Outside is good if you ignore the political articles. Good gear reviews, some skills information, and lots of trip information. Flip past the Chris McCandless (sp?) articles. :)

NGA is superb, just like Nat Geo. They seem to focus more on trips and gear than skills, but they do have some skills information in there.

Climbing and Urban Climbing were both free. I am not a hardcore climber, so I do not understand half the words they use in there. Definitely not geared toward beginners like me, so avoid them unless you already climb regularly.

Backwoodsman and Primative Archer..both great!

i subscribe to traditonal bowhunter magazine and tactical knives... though they're not really survival related...

i also enjoy (buying)reading:
-backwoodsman
-backwoods home
-wilderness way

I subscribe to Backwoodsman and Backwoods Home

pick up wilderness way when available as well as enjoy Primitive Archer

Fur Fish and Fowl is great as well

Backwoodsman is my current favorite

what happened to Am Survival Guide? I lost all mine to personal disaster ie. Hurricane Divorce. those were worth gold.
