Ron,
It looks a heck of a lot better than my first, There wasn't all of this knife internet stuff to speak of and I was hand filing my first reading and following Tim Mc Creight's Book, Custom knife making. It was such an adventure working in my garage on the first one before I had met any other makers back in 96.

I've had the pleasure to spend some time with bill miller, he makes some pretty fancy hunters and bowies in Damascus. He said he started in the 70s making knives and following a book. He said everything he did was an experiment and there was no one to help over the road blocks. I can't even imagine... I give props to the veterans. Without them passing on their techniques, tips, and tricks, We would all still be as blind as the first ones who blazed the trail.
As for my favorite part? It's learning and researching and applying that knowledge and watching it pay off.
