What pocket is for what?

Perhaps I'm strange, perhaps not!

I'm curious if you guys assign pockets to certain items in your life? Particularly what pocket does your knife belong in?

My left front pocket is my keys, my lighter or ecig (finally quit smoking!) And other small misc. items. My front right pocket elongs exclusively to my phone. Nothing else goes in. 3 years no scratches on it! The little pocket in the front right, not sure if it has a name, is exclusively for my knife I'm carrying. If the knife is too big (which its typically not) it will clip in with the phone, with the back part of my phone case touching it.

Back right is wallet.

This is set in stone. My fiance thinks I'm wierd but that's just how it's always been.

What set up do you guys go with on your pockets?

Any tips or tricks to help out in life?

Left front pocket is flashlight and phone.

Right front pocket is keys, lighter, and main carry knife.

Back right pocket wallet.

Right side cargo pocket/left back pocket, pack of smokes, depending on if there's a a cargo pocket or not.

After all the basics, we get to defensive tools, which are all carried on the belt.

I don't wear jeans, so I don't have any pants with the coin pocket.

If I did, I'd throw a spare magazine for my Glock in there.

I think that half size pocket is a coin pocket, but not sure. I keep wallet in my left butt cheek pocket, my phone exclusively in my left front pocket, my knife or knives in my front right. If I'm carrying a nicer knife I'll keep my keys in the back right, but if I'm carrying a fixed blade it'll be in the back right pocket if it's small enough. Then I'll add on what I have on specific days..lighter, flashlight, etc. Very a rely do I carry only one knife, no real reason besides the fact that I can't just carry a folder, but I can't just whip out a fixed blade all the time either. So...

My Emerson karambit is the only thing that carries in my 501's watch pocket.

Coin or watch pocket! Learned something new. lol

Knowing is half the battle!

As some have said, generally is called a coin pocket these days. For older gents, it is a watch-pocket...relating back to the days when men carried a pocket-watch there...

I don't carry a smart-phone. My "mobile phone" stays in my car. I don't like phones.
My wallet is in my front left...helps to ward off pickpockets in crowds.

I carry my folder in my front right. Some old cops that I know carry a waved Endura in their weak side rear pocket...which I think is a great idea...

Left front: phone, keys

Right front: iPod, traditional knife (sometimes goes in coin pocket), clipped folder*

Back right pocket: wallet, flashlight

Left back: Field Notes, pencil rested on my ear

*Sometimes I carry a folder in a belt sheath or a sheathed fixed blade; in that case, I don't carry a clipped folder

Phone front right, knife front left, wallet back right, keys on carabiner on my belt loop tucked into my back right pocket to avoid clanging. I call the little front pocket a watch pocket, usually don't keep anything there, sometimes I'll put my knife in that pocket if I'm carrying something Case Swayback Jack sized and need my front left for something else.

Nope not weird at all! My left pocket has my phone only unless i need writing utensil. My right has my gum (my addiction), chap-stick and keys if i have to as well as my folder!

How could anyone NOT have this mapped out?

Left front - keys
Right front - phone (also about 3 yrs old but mine has one tiny scratch)
Left rear - wallet
Right rear - knife clipped inside.
watch/coin pocket - maybe some lint if I dig for it.

Now the funny thing to me is my front right used to be for my knife up until about 10 years ago when my phone took that spot. Not wanting to scratch my phone all to hell, the knife got bumped completely. Wasn't until just about a month ago that I decided I could probably get used to carrying a knife in my back pocket. Took about a day for that to feel normal :D

It's cool to get some perspective from other people. Also see some arrangements that may be interesting to try. Changing it up never hurt.

Guess I'm not too strange. Men just seem more organized and habitual than our female counterparts.

I wear carpenter jeans, or jeans-cut slacks with an extra leg pocket, 90% of the time.
LF pocket - keys
RF pocket - knife
watch pocket - watch
RR pocket - handkerchief
LR pocket - Wallet
cell phone goes in extra leg-pocket.

Left front pocket is knife and only ever knife.

Right front front pocket is iPhone and only ever iPhone.

Left back pocket is wallet.

Keys get clipped to right hip belt loop.

Nothing goes in my back pocket except for a tiny microstream flashlight. Anyone with back issues will understand why.

I carry my phone in my left pocket. My phone has a wallet case so technically my wallet is in there too. I suggest these to everyone, they cut down on the bulk in my pockets drastically. The phone case covers the front and back of the phone so I can carry whatever I want in there and it can't scratch my phone.

Front right is keys and a folder.

Leatherman goes on the right hip. No coin pockets for me.

That little pocket is perfect for my dragonfly,, leaves more pocket room for other stuff. I may be a little over cautious,, but my iPhone has a pocket all to itself, so the screen doesn't get scratched. My wife gives me grief, but hey, that's why my phone looks new after a year and hers looks she tried to put a tumbled finish on it

I've noticed a lot of us seem to give our phones their own pocket. It seems like the smart thing to do to me.

RFP is keys and clipped large folder
LFP is phone, unclipped people-friendly folder and lighter
LR is wallet
RR is typically empty
