What purposes to buy a knife

I've carried a fixed blade since I was a single digit midget. I'm in my 40's now.
purpose for me - honestly -is whatever I need at the moment.

for that reason I tend to stay in the range of do it all's that I can carry easily
I prefer horizontal belt carry so the Izula and HEST work best for me

but I have a 5 in the BOB.
 
I started with a 4. My use is pretty much motorcycle camping in remote places and I use the knife for fire wood prep and cooking.

I have a 6 just because it's freakin awesome, but I travel with the 4 to cut down on weight on my bike.

I suppose ounces makes pounds so even going from a 6 to a 4 helps a little.

Last year I bought the BMW 800 and love it. I need to get different tires for it and start accessorizing it with boxes and a taller windshield next year. It is winter right now so it is collecting dust in my garage.
 
knives have been around forever. they are cool, fun to collect, and they have the ability to save your life. There are sooooo many uses and variations of knives. I use knives for hunting, making other tools, and self defense.
