What ratio/proportion makes an ideal main clip blade?

This S&M is about perfect for me, with a longish clip, gradual belly, great swedges and long pull.
It also has the interesting short, stocky clip instead of the usual spey for the third blade.

The long clip on this MM is nice for two reasons: it allows the sheepfoot nick on the mark side, and the blades ride low in the frame when closed.

Kevin, is the Outlaw clip just a little slimmer than the one on a Charlow or Boy's Knife? Looks like it might be.

Jeff,

I don't know. I never got in on the Barlow or Boy's Knife. I think the Outlaw is the last GEC I actually bought. After going through so many this one just worked so well for me. I love the combo of blades and the way the clip blade angles down from the handle. Sorry I can't answer your question though.

I like that Doc Hagen, Kris.
Here's one by Brent Cramer that I'm fond of.

The Cramer and Outlaw Jack are really talking to me. Noticed the Outlaw with the nicer scales seem to be sold out. Great combination of blades/frame.

Here's one of the worst clips (IMO).... Case Barlow

Looks like an Angry Bird just glaring at me...... :D
