What(reasonable) steel would you want a Tri-Ad folder in?

If we're fantasizing and shooting for the fences, Elmax. If we're taking the whole shipping, machining, grinding into account probably VG-10 on the hefty models and ZDP-189 on one or two slicers.

I have no problem with the current Aus-8 steel.

I never got around to picking up any of the VG-1, so I can't comment on that.

I wouldn't mind seeing 154 CM though as a higher-end steel option.

I'm actually just fine with the AUS-8. Just give it a stonewashed finish instead of bead blasted. I hate bead blasted surfaces.

I hate when companies use just two or three steels across their entire lineup. CS has some really cool designs, but I think their price isn't justified due to the steel they use.

Vg-10 or even 440c. I don't mind aus 8, but I prefer these two steels to it....with proper heat treat and such of course.

VG-1. Good stuff. Or a high end sprint type edition in Elmax, in keeping with the toughness theme.

Well, since 154CM and Elmax seem to be the top contenders, are those two steels able to be fine blanked? It would be nice to be able to use the new steel with as much of the existing tooling as possible.

I'd be willing to pay more than double if they use elmax or cpm-154 and put a larger pivot. If cold steel would make a limited edition of this, it would probably be sold out in less than a week, imho.
