Clear Alumalite?

I have some aluminum honeycomb that I wouldn't mind making into my own C-tek type stuff. Clear Alumalite work for this? G-Flex? Clear Alumalite would be cheaper but I don't want the thing to fall apart.

Thanks!

Now I'll start by saying I personally wouldn't do something like this myself.
But if I was going to, I'd likely use west systems 105 with one of their slow hardeners. When fresh it cures water clear, tint to your liking. Very durable stuff, and much cheaper than epoxies sold as adhesives.

And clean the crap out of everything. Spray off with brake cleaner, bead blast, and spray off again. The last thing you want is the pieces of epoxy falling out.

I've done it a few times with Alumilite. Only on stiff full tangs that have no chance of flexing. Rounded corners where cells break out is the most fragile area, but I haven't had any failures yet.

I try to make a solid resin "floor" so that all the cells are interconnected regardless of how I shape the exterior.

Thanks guys. Great tips on cleaning and great tip on a" floor". I'll probably leave a 1/8 inch floor to it. I've got some carvex scales coming too I'm chomping at the bit to try.
