What RPM do you grind at?

Thanks Fred, I thought it was screaming fast! I won't know what to do with myself when I get a proper grinder with a VFD.

Man, I am glad to hear that. Someone told me you were getting so old you were grinding at 6 surface feet an hour. I was getting ready to send you a grinding crutch.:D
Good to hear you still got that machine smokinnnnnn!

Regards, Fred

Yup Fred,

At my age I have to do everything as fast as I can. Can't ever tell how much time I have left, and I still got a lot of stuff to do.

By the way............ You ain't exactly a spring chicken yerself :)

Robert

I was thinking most belt grinders you can buy, run at max setting, around 7000 SFPM but it's been a while since I looked up the specs. I have seen home built ones run at 9000. The one I am building now will run max at about 8500.

Spring? More like burnt chicken my friend. If this heat doesn't break soon we'll all be crispy critters.

I'm with you, I take advantage of everyday and try to do something I find worthwhile. Speaking of stuff on the to do list; I'm working on a competition cutter. It will be a first for me.

It's good to see you still have that fine seance of humor.
All the best to you, Fred
