I was thinking most belt grinders you can buy, run at max setting, around 7000 SFPM but it's been a while since I looked up the specs. I have seen home built ones run at 9000. The one I am building now will run max at about 8500.
Spring? More like burnt chicken my friend. If this heat doesn't break soon we'll all be crispy critters.
I'm with you, I take advantage of everyday and try to do something I find worthwhile. Speaking of stuff on the to do list; I'm working on a competition cutter. It will be a first for me.
