What`s everyone been up to? It`s been kind of quiet here, except for the knife contest voting, that`s going well. For me, it`s been good news / bad news. I`ve been waiting for two weeks for payment for three different knives. Even after they all insisted they wanted them, they are sitting here waiting on payment. I really wish that people would at least have the courtesy to reply to my emails, I don`t care if they decided they don`t want them, I can probably resell them, but at least be man enough to let me know.
Now the good news. My oldest daughter and her family are not moving to Florida! More good news is that Connie had her first party on Sunday, and it went really well.
So, how is everyone else doing?

I'm going nuts trying to reorganize the garage. Things are slow this week at work so I had an extra day off to do so.

Party girls!

Congratulations on your first party Connie! May your schedule be overflowing!

Almost forgot, outdoorsfan came over yesterday morning for some "coffee" ;), and we spent a couple of hours shooting the bull.

no payer's suck -- I've been showing off my new knife and getting good comments.
if the weather will stop raining & snowing on my day off, I'd get it out and use it, then post pics!

I started a new job in November which means I am on the bottom (or top) of many list at work. Any overtime that no one else wants gets pased to me and I am first fill-in if anyone is off work sick. I had over 70 hours last week which left me tired but should make for a nice paycheck. I did slip off to a flea market on Saturday morning and make a couple of nice buys. I'll try to post pics tonight.

I just got back to work after being off for 2 weeks due to someone shooting me in the hand...seriously. I can post pics if you guys are interested in seeing them. So besides being poor due to lack of work and doctors bills I'm pretty good. I'm still trying to learn to use my left hand for handling my knives.

Hey John, is there a time limit on non payers? and is there any way I could get pics of these new beauties? I might be able to rearrange some funds if they bail on ya ;)

Hope those guys come through for you John, at the very least some communication is the honorable way to handle payment issues if they can't afford.

Nothing too new in my neck of the woods, just super busy at work and wishing I was sitting around a fire, shooting some firearms or fishing the pond at our farm place up north....I need a getaway:D

I had lumbar back surgery last Tuesday. Enjoying this week after a week of extreme discomfort/pain.

Braidwood Lake should be open as of March 1. Might grab a couple poles, a padded chair and head out one day early next week for a little fishing. South Launch break wall.

I am in Bogota trying to teach a group that doesn't speak English. NOT FUN!!!!

Sounds like the last couple of years I was employed! Between none of the temps we hired not speaking English, I also traveled to China two times.

I've been sourcing new consulting opportunities and have several very promising "irons in the fire". There has been a very significant uptick in the number of technology and construction projects, which is really good news for everyone in general.

I also started boxing again, only to be reminded of what a slacker I have been for the past 6 months. I am so sore it hurts to type! :)

I also had the pleasure of hanging out with John while I picked up my tin knife and burl scandi Fieldmate. For any of you that got in on either, you will not be disappointed.

Good news for me on both counts. :) Best of luck to you Sean!

I'm headed up to the Cascades, near mt hood, to celebrate my girlfriends co-worker's birthday Saturday. They rented a cabin up there. Assuming I can make it in my car(5 inches expected tonight:rolleyes:) they're gonna have two kegs of home brew and beer pong. Should be fun.

P.S. John, I'm gonna send my edc out today for a slight edge thinning.

I'm still running around the country like a head with my chicken cut off. I've been on the road since December 7 and I'd really like to go home.

Yes, the indications I've gotten over the past few days have been incredibly positive. The engineering firms I am having discussions with have a substantial backlog of work that will require long term staffing adds and augmentation. There's usually about a 1 quarter slip before those projects start to "hit the streets". The other positive news is this increase seems to span multiple verticals, not just one or two, which may indicate the first true economic gains in close to 2 years.

The Fieldmate is awesome. You'll love it. The new Tin Knife is a total scalpel and, with the longer handle, really a usable tool. Thanks for the well wishes too! :)
