Carried my Rancher today

SAK Rancher by Anthony McConnon, on Flickr

Here's an orange Rancher for you, T. And a little orange Rambler too.

Unfortunately for me, I'm just totin' these to the Post Office. The Rancher is a graduation gift for a nephew, after I wipe off my greasy paw prints.

The little, tiny Rambler is going to a niece. Both kids are heading off to college in the Fall, and the school colors are orange and black.

My orange Farmer performed yard duty today... I cut down a few 24" +\- saplings that had popped up with the spring rains. The saw made short work of them

I'm pretty much dedicated to my black pioneer at this point. Weekdays at work, weekends out and about I'm finding this pioneer in my pocket. For some reason I'm not craving any variety at this point. It's more about loyalty to this one peticular SAK.

I know the feeling. I have certain knives that just "click" with me so well. I strongly favor them and they see the most pocket time. My Pioneer is one of them. Others are my 77 sheepfoot Barlow, yellow Peanut, Case large Stockman, and #33 Conductor in Ebony.

Not yet in storm mode so this combo...

Orange Farmer & Frontier 4432 Powder Horn Stockman

Just received the Frontier in today's mail.

Nice! The Frontier is late 70's isn't it? That one is immaculate.

PS: What's your Storm Mode set-up?

Thx, it was a NIB example! The Ivory Delrin was '76-'82. I have some more Frontiers on the way.

Storm mode is usually a Farmer, waterproof Gerber AA light and whistle/bell...all on necker lanyards. No carbon knives because I always get wet trying to watch/photograph the storm and sitting in small humid rooms waiting for an all clear works on my carbon slippies. I don't need anything else to worry about and putting a Farmer up wet is no problem. Fixed blades, folding saws, a hatchet, additional lights etc are in a daypack nearby. I'll usually have a Spyderco in my pocket as well.

We have had 4- 5 close calls on tornadoes in about a month's time.

Common set up.

More bad storms are forecast for tonight.....

Hope you guys get a reprieve Robert. We haven't had the devastation Texas has had but we had a State Wide band just like that last night---we've had more rain than we need right now:o

These two today---think I figured out the fuzzy picture thing:confused:

Nice to see that blue pioneer being carried.

Thanks Captain---my ALOX never really experiences wear as I carry backpocket under my Bandana, it did however pick up a couple of character marks on the pile side when I got out of my truck and forgot it was on my lap:o
