Rancher again :)

Still awesome Glen!!

During a bout of insomnia a few weeks back I came across a deal on a Day Packer and ordered one.

Even though everything I read said it was a 2 1/2 inch blade, it was listed on this particular site as having a 3 1/2 inch blade. After I ordered it I asked them to verify the blade size and they said 3 1/2 inches. It took 21 days to arrive from PA to VT, and I was sure I'd never get it. When the package arrived I opened it and sure enough it was 2 1/2 inches. About 15 seconds after I opened it, I sliced my middle finger with it and bled profusely. Damn thing is like a scalpel!! Not wanting to deny the obvious omen, I decided to keep it. IN the week I've carried it, I've cut myself two more times. Not fancy, nor particularly versatile, not even what I thought I was getting, really, but there is something about it I really like. Sure is nice in the pocket. If I don't bleed out, I think I'll really enjoy carrying it.

LOL!!! Nah, it's a Tribble..... :D
...
A Trekkie inside joke.

:D:D
I haven't hung out in this SAK/Multitool subforum for quite awhile, and I don't know why, because I always find fascinating stuff here. But now I'm crawling back with an identification question. I'm carrying this one today; will someone please tell me what model it is?

Picked it up at a gun & knife show last weekend. I'm quite sure it's a Champion, although it does NOT have a wood chisel or hook on the back side. I think it's too old to have the hook; the awl has no "sewing hole" in it and that makes it too old for a hook, right? Couple more pics:

Pre '85 Champion! Congrats

Thanks for the confirmation, Robert!
As I mentioned, I haven't been around here for a LONG time, and I haven't seen you around the traditional subforum for a while. Kind of miss seeing your new acquisitions that were rolling in regularly there for a time!:D Hope 2016 is starting off spectacularly for you!!

I miss being over there Gary but it's mostly SAKs these days that wouldn't fit over there.

Wow!! Good to see that you're staying active.:D And I guess I see what you mean about "fit". Some of those are a long way from black box Winchesters or Frontier stockmen! ;)

I started getting trads in that cost 2x-3x as much as a SAK but were half the fit and finish quality and it soured me a little. So I'm concentrating on the SAK part of my collection right now with a fixed blade thrown in here and there. I do have a GEC SFO on order so I'm still in the game. :D

EVO 14 and some keyring tools.....those 3 old ones were carried by my Grandmother. At least 60 years old.
