I heartily agree. I've carried a pioneer for a long time and really like the 2 layer SAKs. I carried a super tinker for years but got partial to Alox a while back. The farmer is my favorite 3 layer and the saw is a remarkably good cutter for its size. I just got the new pioneer with scissors and am carrying it for a while although an electrician plus or harvester also have great utility.

I have not, but I think that you would lose too much blade. There are lots of beater saks out there so if its a knife you value maybe you can try first on a flea market pickup.
