What SAK is best for your EDC uses?

Everything I need, nothing I don't--in the Evolution S16. Though I carry the older Wenger models--they have basically the same tool set, including the toothpick and tweezers.

I'm one of the odd ducks who EDC either a 111mm Vic or 120/130mm Wenger in pocket carry. Currently a Ranger 57

I EDC a Super Tinker. The tool set covers just about anything I need.

For the past year it has been a Recruit. Looking at getting another just haven't decided which one yet. Think it will be a Spartan or or Pioneer, too many to choose from.

In the last week of my retired life in Texas, the classic has been my most used tool. Haven't needed the dedicated knife I carry.

I find the Rambler to be invaluable. Lately the Pioneer X and Climber are highest on my list of near perfect SAKs

Signature and Cadet... but mostly the signature as I like having the scissors, pen blade and pen.

My 84mm Tourist (with the mini screwdriver in the corkscrew, of course) is mighty damn handy.

But honestly, for true EDC, I can easily get by with just my Rambler.

Mostly a Spartan w/ mini screwdriver. Next would be a tinker. Good enough for MacGyver, good enough for me.... :D

Any of them would be good enough for me if I also had a writing staff to make it so. That is MacGyver's actual advantage. ;)

What SAK do I carry or what is best for my regular carry?

I started out carrying a regular Tinker and loved that one. Used it for years. I like the basic tool selection.
Then got a alox Soldier which is the same size. Liked it but missed the tweezers and toothpick. Never was a scissors person with a sak. This is back when I probably owned just a few knives and was not into trying stuff out. I just used what worked.

Tried the 111 mm Adventurer (side lock model) and liked it even though it feels significantly larger in the pocket. I found this one at a gun show when I was in the market for another Tinker or tinker-like model back in the mid to late 90's. Really like this knife for using. The basic tools are there if I need something in a pinch.

More recently I have been trying to carry a large GEC traditional in a pocket slip, but miss the basic tools of the SAK. So, I carry a Bantam along with the traditional for the "other stuff" and it has a reasonable blade on it too. Now I am trying out a small stockman (3.3" closed) with the 111 mm SAK or a modern like a Delica or ZT. The large SAK does 95% of the cutting I do very well, so it is a matter of deciding what I like more now.

Most recently picked up a alox Pioneer. Nice knife, but if I am carrying a sak, I want the tweezers and toothpick available. To be honest, the Bantam or the little stockman would handle 90% of the cutting I do and I wouldn't even notice it in my pocket. But I tend to like about a 3" cutting blade so I flip around with the GEC traditional, various moderns, and sometimes the small stockman.

If I am thinking about it, I'll take a one-handed Trekker with me in the woods (hikes or exploring) rather than the Adventurer.

So, MY "best" is probably the discontinued Adventurer. The boy scout version is still available.
