What SAKs that you always have a soft spot on....?

For me that would be the Compact. My EDC since it came out in 1991, owned several and recently bought a whole bunch of them to serve as a secret stash for if someday they would discontinue this slim, near-perfect EDC model...

Did the very same with the Alox Bantam and Alox Solo.
Not a bunch, but 2 back ups for each:D

The Tinker or Sparton for me. I have 3 of each in different colors. Just about the perfect edc knife. Out in the boonies I carry a Camper for the saw. Have 4 of those.

I have an old red alox Soldier that's always in my backpack. My absolute favorite SAK. Very lightweight and great in hand/pocket, plus super sturdy and only the tools you need.

I just love the Huntsman. I only have one, and actually only got it recently. In my area I have only been able to find the ruby model which I do not like. I have been searching for a classic red for a few years now and finally found one. I had to buy it even though my cash pool was very low :). I took it on a back packing adventure and it proved to be very useful. It got a lot of scratches from crud in my bag, but it goes with the territory. I also love all the alox models for both wenger and Vic

My favorites are the Huntsman and the Compact.
However a Compact with a saw added would be the perfect 3 layer compromise.
Or a Compact with a saw and Vic pliers added as a good 4 layer alternative to a multi-tool!
I have collected the parts and have been planning on mod-ing as listed above.
Will probably try it as a winter project!

Think about a Compact, with added pliers, Phillips and magnifier. Would be quite a nifty 4-layer knife, don't you think?
