What sense does this make?

Dear ElCuchillo,

You have received an infraction at BladeForums.com.

Reason: Posted in wrong forum
-------
There are guidelines at the top of the forum about what is appropriate for posting in the traditional forum.

You and I have been over this ground several times.

You still seem to think the forum is about "you". It's selfish and disrespectful.

Please follow the guidelines.
-------

This infraction is worth 5 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

I was going to write about how I carried my Case CV medium Stockman again yesterday for the first time since I sliced my finger open with it a few months ago, when something else happened I figured I'd write about. I was in an alligator enclosure with one of our new guys feeding some chicken and was squatting in front of the gators trying to get a specific gator out of the water. I am training them for an upcoming show, and was trying to get this gator to stand tall before feeding him, when another gator lunged out of the water and tagged me right on my right knee. I was lucky in that I jumped up as I saw him coming and was thus able to get my knee out of the way before he chomped down, but I still got a couple of teeth in my knee from the impact of him colliding with me. It was a scary moment. He didn't continue coming after me, though. As a matter of fact, when he landed, he just looked at me like "What?" I think he was going after the chicken in my hand more then anything, and the injury reall isn't that bad, but it was pretty friggin scary nontheless, the thought of how bad that could have gone. I DID use the stockman to cut a piece of gauze, though, for the knee. LOL.

Then Blues puts this in the community center, where it starts a conversation about stockman knives, and Ken C. said it wasn't a knife related forum. Am I missing something here? Don't others post things here all the time that has nothing to do with knives, or has to do with personal experiences and accounts of the days activities?
Keeping my friends on here informed is selfish and disrespectful? I just don't get it.

Moved to Service and Support. Once again, posted in the wrong forum.

And as I recommended, read the guidelines which are posted in a sticky at the top of the forum. We've been over this ground personally in the past. I got tired of reminding you.

(You'll notice that I didn't take any action on your request to have your account "deleted" and didn't give you an infraction this time for once again posting in the wrong forum.)

Every forum has certain rules that need to be followed. While you may only post in Traditional the topics you choose to discuss there may not belong there. Now if someone moves a thread to another forum you are expected to adhere to the rules of that forum. Notice that I did not issue and infraction or warning. I simply made a simple reminder that knife discussion does not belong in Community. I did not got on anyone's case about it and let it slide. I did not lock it nor did I edit it. I cut you some slack due to the nature of the thread and also for the fact that you had no control over it for quite a while once it was moved.

Well, I am just a deranged cowboy now, but if anybody is interested in a suggestion from the peanut gallery I think threads that don't fit well in either Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades or Community Center work fine in General Knife Discussion. It makes sense for some forums to be for specific topics and others to be more general, and General Knife Discussion is naturally a more general forum.

I think it's fine in Community. The main topic is his injury and not the knife involved. As long as it stays on track with it's core topic it is welcome in Community.
