What sharpening system do you compliment your RAT with?

I use Arkansas stones or various ceramic stones, but I think a strop with compound is the ticket. Very reliable and easy way to keep the blades shaving sharp.

I always sucked at sharpening til I got a set of paper wheels. Now everything in the house is sharp.
I've also used my 2 x 42 belt sander, either way I end up stropping a little to polish up the edge.

I was in the same boat. Paper wheels are just plain awesome. It can turn any amateur knife sharpener to an expert. Before that, I used the lansky sharpening system. Pretty good sharpener for the money. I haven't tried the Spyderco sharpmaker, but have heard nothing but good things about them. Hope this helps.

I use Spyderco benchstones, medium and fine.
The Izula takes a nice sharp edge real quick.

At home I use a Lansky system.

In the field I have a nice small diamond coated stone.

Honestly if I set my system at 20degrees and touch it up, my RC4 will perform in the field for days without needing a touch up.

I still carry the field stone "in case" but havent used it yet :)
