What sheath should Koyote Girl Make?

I have a BUNCH of blades that don't have sheaths. I find that a blade no sheath or a poor sheath is not going to find its way into rotation.... Koyote Girl (Sierra) has graciously agreed to make me another sheath, but I can't decide what to do next. I have some small pretty blades that sheaths, but I usually just wear the skinner pattern that I have in a sheath she made or my ATAX each day. I rotate big blades depending what I am doing, so I thought I might ask her to something with one of my big, ugly users, coupled/piggied with a smaller blade. What would you do?

So here are the big, uglies:

1. Crazy, giant skinner pattern in 1/8" carbon steel

2. Modded Cleaver

3. Marble's Cleaver. I like this pattern. (I'm tempted to ask Koyote if he would create one of these Koyote-style, and than Sierra could make a sheath for it..)

Small ones:

1. My 20 year old Brusletto

2. A kitchen knife by Ikea (don't laugh, these aren't that bad)

3. A razor (too sharp to be a knife.. ) by David Farmer

The big blade could be coupled with a pouch, an SAK Swisschamp, a Micra, an incoming HI R-10... What would you do? Sierra hasn't actually committed to working on any of these blades specifically, so I'm just asking for opinions here....

I do the farmer.....Now the nessy with the ribbed condom (for traction) over the handle - that just wouldn't like right in K-girls sheaths :)

Were it me, I would opt for the Farmer. It just looks like a blade I would want to carry.

You are right about that Marbles, but it is strategic move on my part. I love the pattern, and sooner or later, a knifemaker is going to make me one of these that will be at home in K-girl leather...

Yep, its special.

You know - I bet RichardJ might give that super Nessie a whirl!

I say go with the Piggyback Sheath System Sierra's really Good at em and they look Great !
I'd go with # 1 The Crazy Giant Skinner, And while It's there getting a Sheath made have Christof put a Convex Edge on It, And # 3 the David Farmer In Front, Perfect Piggyback Combo !

I like that concept, the big, crazy skinner is pretty light for its size, so it would make good piggy knife, and the Farmer is just decent a little knife not to have a some leather (thank you Rupestris for this blade!).

Them two Knive's will be Great In a Piggyback Koyote Girl Sheath, I like the Crazy Skinner, It reminds me of one of my Favorite carry Knive's on the River, It's a Great Chopper & Super Sharp for a Cheap Knife "I Like It", This Is more on the Tactical Style though It's a United Cutlery Delta Defender II,

Personally my vote is for the brusletto. after 20 years even if you never use it again i think it's earned it's place in some nice pants.
the rest are awesome and could create some great combos but they need to do their time.

I'm not laughing that thing is cool. It's similar in pattern to a lot of EDC's I see being made by some of the makers here.

m, I am so glad that Farmer ended up with someone that will use it. I did enjoy it but it just wasn't going to see much as use as my BRKT Woodland (EDC) and I'm trying to thin the herd. I haven't been traveling too light lately.

I'd send that one off to KoyoteGirl without hesitation. Either the piggy back or a solo sheath would work. That Farmer needs some new leather.

Chris

I'd send the Farmer. Looks like a fantastic blade, and I think it would look sweet with some leather on it

Snake Doc - I like that UC, it looks like a fun user:thumbup:

Tyr - I did buy the crazy skinner off e-bay, but I think I bought it about a year ago... But I'm can't be certain. Do you know anything about the blade?

Goatriba - That little Brusletto has earned its keep. I still carry it in my Maxpedition Devil Dog in one of those little plastic Mora sheaths that I modded.. If she doesn't pants this round, she will soon! We'll make sure K-girl has rent money for a while:D

Big Mike - That big skinner has the biggest grips I've seen in a while. I'm a regular size guy (6'2" 190# - large glove) and you can see the fit in my hand.

Chris - Thank you again, you are very generous:thumbup: I'm going to order another Farmer (Dangerous Curves) as a result..

Yeah - I think it is going to have to get some pants

:D You ain't kidding. I thought the finger hole was kinda small in the first pic. That thing is a BEAST!

Me likey. Now I'm all for a piggy back rig.

Yep, it is. I hope Tyr comes back with some info on the orgin of this crazy blade. I can comfortably hold this knife in a two-handed grip. it had to made by a guy with some giant mitts.

I dunno from origins.

I do know I saw one almost exactly like it that had a starting bid of .99 cents on eBay about 3 months ago, IIRC. The seller posted some weird story about how he "found" it somewhere and kept it in his car for self-defense until he got pulled over by the police who found it and thought he was insane for having it, but it was legal in his state so they let him keep it, but his girlfriend was mad at him and wanted it gone. The seller might be a member here, since he knew who Fred Perrin was. The only reason I didn't bid on it was because the handle looked way too big for me to hold comfortably. I think it sold for under 5 bucks. Again, looked exactly like what you've got, so someone made several of these.
