Well it seams the longer I'm in knife making the more I enjoy making shop tools. I started thinking about it the other day and realized that most knife makers have a shop full of home made tools and equipment. then i thought why do i make my own tools, its not because its cheaper or easier It's because i really love making stuff i think.
so i thought i would start a thread on your home made tools and see if we could get some pictures out of you so we could see your stuff. I will start it off with with the major tools i have made for my shop.

My new baby I made, its over 300 pounds of pure anvil goodness

I made these to hold My 1" L6 round stock

Of course you cant have an anvil with out a forge. This has been a great little forge.

I made this to do my clean up forging, I use my 4 Lb hammer to move heavy sections and then use this to do final shaping and edge bevels. Its made from D2

Well there you go, these are the larger projects i have done. Now lets see yours, thy might give others ideas on other things to make and take time away from actually making a knife

Im making a kmg clone at school! I am doing it for the second, third and fourth reasons. Not the fifth because I got the motor as a gift, the metal as scrap, the drive shaft for cheap and the bearings and step pulleys my mom bought for me. Your tools look great, JT, I have seen them before, but they do look excellent.

I make a few tools, nothing as elaborate as you guys, but I gotta admit I hate it. Not really hate it , I dislike it because it takes away from time making knives. It ticks me off to have to pull off and make a tool but I do it because I either need it right then or I can't afford to buy one.
Nice tools Jt.
Later,
Iz
