What should I buy with a small budget.

The grip is ok. I find the blade too thick. I love the presidio its a slicing machine and the handles are confortable.

i don't love the full size griptilian, but i you are looking for a smaller knife i wholeheartedly recommend the minigrip. I have no experience with the custom grips, but i believe it is the same as normal just customized. I really like the presidio, and 940. Also you could save up for a 710 which is awesome. I've held the rift once and have no complaints, and it looks like a great knife. Good luck

This is neither here nor there but your post got me thinking. There are some amazing knives out there for under $150!

I think the Volli really hits a sweet spot. Blade length right in between full size and mini Barrages. Nice high flat grind and S30V steel. The sculpted G10 scales are the biggest standout. In the pics, they look a bit sharp, but they aren't in hand. Very comfortable. Blows away the Valox scales on the grips and Barrages. For $140 it's a great value. The only negative for some May be that it's an assisted blade. It's easy enough to de-assist if your so inclined.

Ok so I really didn't want to spend over 120 for a new knife. The best knife I have at this point is a small gerber.
The two knives I was looking at currently are the griptilian and the presidio ultra.
They are both right around 100 bucks, is one better than the other? Is the steel on one better than the other?
For that price range, I would skip both. The Griptilian has better steel, but for $105 you can get the new HK Axis lock knife. 3.69" blade of D2 steel in a very useful shape. Better than the Grip or the Presidio Ultra.

The one thing I have never liked about the Griptilian is the partial liner. It makes it feel flimsy in my hand. The HK Axis has full liners

The other option is going with a custom Grip for $160 getting it neon green and black like a zombie edition. And sv30 steel.
Would this be the best option?
Please help guys lol, I am now torn between the custom grip, a rift, or a volli 1000003. The volli and rift have g10 handle, and the volli has s30v blade. Which of these knives are the best? And can you get different scales for all of them?

Grip: once again, not full liners. I just don't care for that on a plastic handled knife.
Rift: my favorite knife! Full liners, G10 scales, incredibly functional blade shape
Volli: haven't handled one, but watching the test videos on youtube that Benchmade made, it does not hold up as well as the Rift. It serves a different purpose (more office, edc, etc. The Rift can handle hard use).

You can't get different scales for them, but if you get the 2-tone Rift, you can dye them to get blue/black, green/black, marroon/black, etc. I've done it:

At this point, the best bang for your buck just might be the HK Axis knife. D2 is better than s30v for edge retention and toughness (but harder to sharpen), and the blade shape is great. I couldn't tell you how the handle shape feels in-hand. The handle on the Rift is great for medium hands, and the blade shape is awesome for just about anything. 154CM is no slouch, but it won't hold an edge like D2. Either would be a good hard-use knife in addition to edc. The Volli is more light-use edc.

Unfortunately, they don't have a video of the Rift.

Different strokes! Im starting to prefer ffg spydercos over everything else in terms of folders. I dont do very heavy cutting tasks usually.

For sure. It's all what you're used too. My usual blade is a Hinderer XM18 and that thing is a tank.
