I'm sure it's been done without disassembling...if you used teeny screws, and drilled new holes (the OEM scale holes are countersunk), you could do it easy...I been thinking of doing that... :)

hmmmm... maybe I'll order some of that Micarta from Jantz and find a nice 110 or 112 to try it out on, or black micarta on a 500X.

334dave seems to know about the glue Buck uses on the rivetless 110's...maybe he knows where to get it (and not bother with rivets)... ;)

(I've seen an ad for "Gorilla Glue"...I wonder if that's it?) :confused:

I like the look of the rivets, so I'll probably find some sort of torx screws if I choose to go this route (and use some Loctite for the screws and maybe some adhesive under the Micarta). I can't seem to get Jantz's search to work, and I don't really wanna buy a catalog... oh well.

My bad; I should have passed on the msg I got from Jantz...they say they are changing servers, and hope to have online catalog back in service soon...you can call, 1-800-351-8900, and get good service...I have some of those colored scales coming... :)

thanks for the info. I don't really need to order anything right now I guess, I think I'll stockpile a few knives first and get a few ideas of what I want to do. But I think I'll will order a catalog sometime soon.

Yeah... :( :D

I picked up a 503 and 110 on ebay tonight. I'm not sure about the age of the 110, the photo only showed the backside of the blade, but it's an older slab sided model that looks to have a full, fairly mint blade (but I've been wrong before).

I'm gonna carry my newly restored 501 tomorrow, if I can pry my new BM710 out of my pocket
