I will be laying off of purchasing knives for awhile, so this will be my last for a bit. I have about $300 for a fixed blade or a really special folder. No other specs. Sell me on something.

Check out William Collins, I just got a Master Woodsman in the CPM 154 with the Black G-10 with Orange Liners and a Leather Sheath for about $330.00

Oh it's a Dual Grind similar to a Mora 2000 and it's easy to sharpen.

Get 3 kizers! :D

Nah but I really like the marc lee benchmade fixed blade. little overpriced imo, but its a really sweet blade.

Id get a balisong though, they're a lot of fun!

SurviveKnives...one from their GSO series in CPM-3V.
or. Spyderco Military or PM2 in S110V blade-steel; the Military was just reviewed by Ankerson. TOP-rated steel for edge-holding.

Spyderco Mule Team #24 in Maximet, Halpern scales and a custom sheath. Looks to be an incredible steel, comfortable handle and useful blade geometry.

Don't know much about fixed blade but if it were me, I'd pick one of the following three folders (solely based on the quality, price, and personal preference):

- Reate District 9 plus
- ZT 0804CF
- Spyderco Slysz Bowie

+1 on the Survive knives. Absolutely a great buy. They do a great job in selecting their metals but the 3V is really special. Watch the video where Guy repels using his knife as an anchor. Fascinating stuff.
And they are good people as well. Glad to support them.

If you really want a fixed blade, take a good look at all the custom makers. You can get one heck of a great custom for 300. Also check the knifemaker's for sale section here. If you wanted a folder I would look at a 2nd market midtech or semi custom.
