I am making a blade for a friction folder out of 1084 and am going to harden it in the morning it has a 2.25 ish blade and is about 3/4 of an inch wide and a little less than an 1/8 thick how would temper this? I was thinking of doing an edge quench and then tempering at 325 for an hour taking it out of the (kitchen)oven setting on a rack to cool then repeat the tempering cycles two more times. does that sound about right or is there a better way?

Do a full immersion quench in fast oil then temper 3 1 hour cycles at 400

Edge quenching serves no real purpose and results in a pearlite spine and can put enough internal stress in a blade to crack it

400F gives a great blade. On a folder, 350F may be chippy if the quench fully hardened the blade.
