What size bead blast medium ?

I was wondering what size bead blast medium you all use. I got some of the finest glass beads J&L Supply has, and it does almost nothing at all. Thanks for you help. Mark Hazen

Mark,the finer the glass beads the less effect it has on hard steel and unfortunately it is not graded like grinding belts are.I use grade BT-8 Beads,I also mix in 25% #150 aluminum oxide blasting media,sometimes less,depending on the on the results I wish to obtain,=the more AO you mix in the courser your finish w/be.Another thing to consider is the size of the nozzle on your gun.The ones that come w/the blast cabinet are pretty big,you might want to get a smaller one,like go from 1/4" to 3/16"or so.
