What size small wheels?

I've recently acquired 2 small wheel arms for my old Bader B2, and could use some help deciding what wheels I should put on them. I'm thinking 1" for sure for one of them, and maybe something slightly larger for the other. What sizes would you get if you could get any 2? Which do you use the most?

1/2" and 1". You have a 2" wheel on the top and bottom of the flat platen already.

Above that, you use a direct contact wheel - 1/2", 1", 2", 3". 5", 8", 10",and 14" makes a super set.

Remember you can always do bigger curves with a small wheel, but its very difficult to do smaller curves with a large wheel. I don't have a full set of small wheels, but I recommend starting with the smallest wheels (with rubber/urethane on them, not the bare wheel) and then adding larger ones as you can.

Although if you've got a budget for all of them, by all means stop askin' an start buyin'. ;p

I use my 3/4" small wheel the most.

If I recall properly, Rob at Beaumont Metal Works (KMG) told me that the 3/4" size was the most popular.

1/2" - 5/8" - 3/4" here. The 1/2" and 5/8" get the most use for small hunter/utility styles. Larger camp knives and choppers see quite a bit of the 3/4".

I wish I could have one of every size, but you know what they say....... "Wish in one hand and crap in the other and see which gets filled first". ;)

Everybody is right on here ,you likely won't go to small on wheels, you could put a fork
on it and have about 5/16" & up. Roller blade bearings, gas line, or air compressor hose,
get a bit creative and you can have any size you want dirt cheap.

I bought a 3/4" and made a 3/8", they do everything I have needed so far.

When I made this fork I didn't have a mill yet, so put it together by making the fork
from sheet and barstock and birdshit welds. Now as far as the wheels go anyone
younger than myself will probably know more about roller blade bearings. It isn't rocket
science and they're dirt cheap and durable. Ken.
