Now that you won't be needing that 2011 anymore I can give it a loving home in my pocket:D

Well I'll be working on year two of every day carry of my Case Chestnut Bone Peanut, even though I was gifted a Damascus Stag Peanut this Christmas from my daughter & wife. The Chestnut was a gift the year before from my daughter at less than a month old and I'm a sentimental sap when it comes to her:-) I always carry two knives ever since I was a kid, just habit, plus I have too many in my collection that I enjoy for various reasons.

Looks like it was a Case knives transition from 2012 to 2013 for me. I carried and used the 6344 stockman from 1978 yesterday. Today I am carrying and using the 32087 pen from 2011.

This little guy is probably going in the watch pocket of my jeans as I get up from here and get to work around the house:

I carried my Mike Alsdorf Wharncliffe Trapper. The only opportunity to use it last night/this morning was at the end of the party to cut cellophane to wrap leftovers.

Had my Opinel #8 in carbon steel last night and continue to carry it the rest of today.

I was still carrying the Boker stockman jack when I went up to church last night. Had a couple of beers there. (No opener necessary when you have kegs. A nice Porter and an IPA.) Spent most of the evening outside by the fire talking to people, some of whom I've known for 40 years. A fun time, for sure.

I carried my KHampton Swayback, while marching in the Philadelphia New Year's Day parade as a mummer. (That's me in the back, the tall guy...) :)

Tomorrow, there is another march called the Serenade, wherein we will parade and drill to honor and thank the clubs that beat us (we came in 7th place, in the Convention Center performance contest). After the Serenade, I will close out my New Year's celebrations by performing the German ritual of Bleigiessen, which I learned about recently.

(For those unfamiliar, Bleigiessen is when people melt small amounts of lead in a silver spoon, over the flame of a candle. The molten lead is then tipped into a container of cold water, where it solidifies. The resulting shape is purported to be indicative of the fortunes of the new year ahead. ...I kinda think that whatever the shape, I'm going to read it as "Success, good health, and happiness." ;) )

Happy New Year, everybody!
Alex
