What sort of Blems come on Kershawguy's Blurs?

My JYDII I got from him the backspacer is not quite flush with the liners. It doesn't affect the performance or ergos at all. :)

My blem'd blem... 5 X's instead of 4. My guess... QC guy marked it as a blem, realized there was nothing functionally or cosmetically wrong with it, and put in the 5th "X" to negate the "blem" designation. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. ;)

I've ordered 4 Leek blems and a half dozen Blur blems from him, and they were uniformly fantastic. One of the tigerstriped blurs has a tiny spot half the size of a pin head discolored on the DLC, another had a very minor lightening in the DLC along the spine, and all the others appear to be perfect.

i've ordered five blems from him and i'd be hard pressed to tell what they are. also, of the five knives, only one had the XXXX marking which was nice.

I just got my Blur from him yesterday, and the only thing I can find on it is a small toolmark on the edge of one of scales. I did notice that on Ken's site the steel is listed as 14C28M, and on Amazon the same 1670BLK Blur is listed as 13C26. Not sure about the differences; I don't know steels that well, but I'd put my faith in Ken over Amazon.

I never found the blem on my 0300. After Useing it no longer matters, because it's no longer "perfect" cosmetic, but it still works as well and any non blem.

As most of you may now know, we are in the very tough process of changing over all of our knife blades that utilize 440A over to Sandvik 13C26.

The way we have decided to identify the change in steel will be by the "born on date" (these dates are engraved on every blade). The starting point for this modification are blades that are marked "July 07" will be 13C26 steel, any knife born prior is 440A.

The following knives marked with July 07 will now be 13C26 steel:

*Leek (1660, 1660ST, 1660CKT, 1600CKTST, 1660BR, 1660BB, 1660Trout, 1660VIB, 1660VIBST)

*Centofonte/Onion's (1610, 1615)

*Mini Mojito

*Baby Boa

*Blackout (1550, 1550ST)

*Whirlwind (1560, 1560ST, 1560RMEF)

*Blur (1670SG10, 1670RD, 1670RDST, 1670TBLKST, 1670BLK, 1670BLKST, 1675RDST, 1675BLKST)

Thanks for the patience with all of this.

To insure that there is no confusion, the Speed Bump, Cyclone's, Need's Work, JYD's, Groove's, ET's, and Storm's have always been produced with 13C26.

March 2009 was the last of the 13C26 and the phase-in of 14C28 had already started...

These are all 14C28N not M , a lot of people that sell on Amazon don't have a clue, they copy old ads and steal old photos, ha. I love Amazon, NOT !

I just recently bought a tanto blur blem and could not find a problem with it. I then took some off the coating of to make tiger stripes later that night. :) Sort of a hack job but it was my first time.

Ok, first and foremost, Kershawguy is friggin' QUICK!!! I ordered this ZT 0550 blem, late in the afternoon, on 01/08/13 and it arrived today! Many thank to Santa Dave!
Here is the knife:

And here is the GIGANTIC blem that netted a huge discount:

A double stamp that, I'm pretty hopeful, will NOT affect the performance of this knife! :D Actually, kind of a cool shadow effect...

DD

I hear so much good things about KG and the blems he sells that I ordered a Skyline blem and hope he still has Blem Red Blurs left by the time I get paid on the 22nd.

I just got a Ram from Dave.
Other than 4 really dark X's on the blade, I cant find a darn thing wrong with it.
Half the fun in owning a blem is actually finding the blem!

Well, I'm not so sure, I ordered a Kershaw Rake from Dave, and what does he send me? A frigging knife!?!? On the one hand, it doesn't rake leaves worth a damn, but it is one heck of a knife! :D

You could rake leaves with it, could learn some patience while you are doing it. I used to have a little old lady that lived down the street that picked up leaves with chop sticks and a small paper sack every day, ha.

Well, I went through all of my blems from Dave. A few years back. Here's the list (they're all marked with the XXXX except where noted)...

Black Blur. Two small scratches where the clip screws in were dinged into the handle, removing the finish. I'm guessing somebody nicked the handles when putting the clip on.
Red Blur. Couldn't find the blem.
Black Blur. A small nick on the spine of the blade, showing the steel underneath.
Black Blur. No real blem, but the model number has a "T" added to it. No XXXXs.
Orange Packrat. Couldn't find the blem.
OD Blur. Small nick on the blade's spine, showing the steel underneath.
Composite Leek. Couldn't find the blem.
Shallot. Two small dings (each about the size of a flea) on the handle.
Black Leek. Small nick on the pocket clip.
Black Blur. Has the extra "T" on the blade. No XXXXs.
Leek. One of the thumb studs had a very small burr on the tip. 15 seconds with an emery board fixed it.
Skyline. Unmarked blade; absolutely nothing lasered on it. No XXXXs.
Black Shallot. Couldn't find the blem.
Blue Scallion. Very small ding on the handle scale.
S30V Blur. Couldn't find the blem, but only has three Xs.

0560 had a small chip at end of point but I reprofiles convex and you would never know. Skyline Blem...can't tell why it's a blem.

I love Kershawguy blems!!!

I just got a purple web Blur blem from Dave and the only thing I can notice is the coating is scuffed towards the tip. The blade is also off center but I'm working on that. Everything else is superb.
