What Spydie to get

Congratulations on your Spyderco purchase smoakey... now all you'll be able to do is wave to your paychecks as they fly out the door... once you are a Spyderco addict, there is no cure.

But honestly, you will love every minute of your spydie spending spree :)

You will have to browse/search the forums for pictures and threads and become enlightened; without being "in the game" during that time frame means you can't have the actual experience or knowing what they should feel, look, smell like LOL You will have to go by research and if not for sure, just post it in the spyderco knock off/fake section. Be careful of linking to sales, etc, but if its it that particular thread it should be ok as long as its to determine if its a real knife and not to promote the selling of.

Wait for enough replies, the seasoned eyes here always pick out the bad apples.

Its rare, but I've seen people on eBay with high feedback selling fakes. Usually the box is a dead give away, if not the wording of the description, as in it was translated by a computer program. Some sellers are listed as in China or it says USA, but no state is listed...

There was a reputable knife dealer with a fair collection of Spyderco at Flea World in Sanford the last time I was there...before Christmas. There was also a large, and overpriced, dealer in Old Town in Kissimmee last summer. I hope that helps some. Nice score on the Caly3.

I just got the knife today! This thing is beautiful! I almost do not want to carry it around. I really have to get used to the fact that it is not assisted opening, that is all that I have use for a few years. It does open vary smooth and is rediculously sharp! I will post up pics later. Thanks a lot again SF. I think that I am going to try to find a Delica this weekend, but we will see. I might have a problem now!

...I guarantee you will have a problem and you will enjoy it too. There's no doubt that Kershaw makes great knives but Spyderco is on another level as far as materials, ergonomics and design philosophy, IMO.

This is the sharpest knife I have ever gotten out of the box! It is like a damn razor, I will have to be careful not to cut my self. I was messing around and It got me but did not draw blood. The blade closed down on my finger and I also filleted my thumb, but no blood. Crazy sharp! I love this knife and I am looking for a FFG Delica right now!

Here are some pics of my first Spyderco!

I like the endura, but I also tend to like larger knives for edc. If you want to try the endura you might look into the ffg versions or the waved version. Both are excellent choices.

I have a gray FFG delica in great shape I would sell you. I've carried it maybe twice and it has cut very little. Let me know if you like to see some pics.
