What started your addiction

I clame KaBar USMC and Next Generation responcible for my addiction to fixed blades.
I did resist folders until I saw CRKT Apache III Limited edition.

Thanks for all the replies. It seems like most of you have your fathers or grandfathers to thank for the addiction. Must he passed on from generation to generation. Both of my grandfathers have passed, and I have the last knife that they both carried. They were nothing that anyone here would be concered with, but to me they are priceless.

I was interested in knives, but it was Sid Latham's '73 book on custom knives that made me realize there was more to knives than Buck and Case.
