What steel does queen use?

What type of stainless steel did queen cutlery use back in the 80's. I have a small button lock and a paul revere lock blade and I was just curious.

Queen used several steel types.This question is likely a bit to vague for many of us to answer with any accuracy without the benefit of several good clear and close-up photographs showing the knife in detail. Hows about posting a few pix here?

Queen used 440C for many years; I have a Queen factory letter from 1976 that states the steel used at that tome was 440C...but at some point probably the late 70's to early 80's they switched to 440A. From the description your knives are likely 440A.

In recent years they have switched to D2, 420, and ATS-34 depending on the particular series of knives.

But their carbon is more forgiving.
