What Steel for a Short Sword?

I went ahead and called a friend with decades of making everything. He said use ATS. I didn't ask him if I could use his name, so I won't.

Thanks to everybody.

I think I try ATS-34. It will be a while before I make it. When I do I post and let everyone know how it turned out.

Harley, next time fight your way out of a bunch of ATM machines, you can carry a whole lot more money in bills rather than change.

Just thought, maybe you were trying to get enough quarters to make mokume for all those jigged bone mokume knives for Les.................................

3-V or 1084 or L-6 for the toughest sword.

:D Jerry, I am not going to comment any more as Larry and Les may beat the snot out of me next time they see me, and worst of all Larry may not offer me any more shine!

If Larry hadn't gotten carried away and just cut the meters in two, he could have had halves instead of quarters :).
Are you bringing that knife to the cutting contest Larry?
It would be hard to whip you know.

Personally I like 52100 using clay to make the temper line. M. Bell showed me how. :)

See you at the hammer-in.
