What steel is the Dog Skinner made out of?

"ETA: is that the Blade length on all of the Dog Skinners? "

On dog skinners yes - Rat Hunters were shorter.

That I now know! :)

Yeah, the Rat Hunters were made of SR101. In my opinion, as stated in another thread, probably the BEST EVER EDC to EVER come out of the Busse Family of knives. I love mine and it will be the last EDC I EVER part with.

Nothing to date has come close...

Yep, D2 for the Dog Skinners. There was the original Master Series D2 Dog Skinner in satin with black canvas micarta (beautiful!) and a Ganza version in double cut with smooth black and tan canvas bolstered.

Great, great blades. I've a hard time deciding whether the Dog Skinner or Desert Jack are my all time favorite.

(There were some custom shop DS at a couple of Ganzas also.)

Eh. I had a CS Dog Skinner. I just didn't like the handle. It ONLY felt good if my index finger was in the choil. That's only part of the task. Otherwise a nice blade, but not my fav. Busse-fam EDC. (Not sure what that is yet, but I'll let you know when I figure it out. LOL)

I just get hold of this Custom Dog Skinner
Anybody who knows how many where made with this two-tone handle?
This is a safe queen by the way

I felt the same way about the handle on my CS Dog Skinner, I couldn't warm up to it at all. So I traded it off.

I ended up buying a somewhat nuetered Rat. A little bigger than a Game Warden, but I do like it a lot.

Waterbuck,

Glad to see that the Rat Hunter is still loved. :D Now go and get her sharp!
