I have some old hand saws that would make great paring knives. The steel is .045 thick. Does anybody know what hand saws are typically made of? The saw in question is a Stanley Shortcut Toolbox Saw. It stayed sharp for quite a long time so I figure the steel is pretty good. Is it L6 steel like most lumber mill saw blades or is it something different? Thanks in advance for the help.
