What steel was used for a 1986 model 639 Fieldmate?

I'm not certain when Buck changed their steel grades from 440C to 425CM to 420HC, so I guess that I'm asking what was the standard steel in 1986.

I'm thinking that I should look for a book about Buck Knives, that may contain all of the steel changes.

I just copied and pasted this from an older thread:

The information that I have about Buck standard steel is:

Before 1981.- 440C

1981 to 1994.- 425M

After 1994.- 420HC
