Swords aren’t ideal for woods work - their balance is for cutting flesh, not wood. If you just want fun, try a Cold Steel Kukri Machete - sword-like curve, machete durability, and under $50.I'm looking for a tough, lightweight and cheap sword that I can use in the woods.
I own several machetes already, but I'm looking to have some fun with a sword. Thanks.
I completely subscribe to this opinion. Taller folks may find it advantageous to obtain a slightly longer version of an existing and decent machete pattern.
“This is the weapon of a Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a machete; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.”
Opinion alert: Use the right tool for the job. A machete isn't a sword nor vice versa. The machete is completely different in terms of balance, blade geometry and construction from a sword. Machetes are good for what they are intended to do... And so are swords...but that purpose is completely different.
There was a modified movie quote in there somewhere...I completely subscribe to this opinion. Taller folks may find it advantageous to obtain a slightly longer version of an existing and decent machete pattern.
Strongly suggest adding a lanyard.
