It heat colours but I have not been able to control the heat to get an even colour. If you don't mind a range of colours go ahead and heat gently with a propane torch.
Yeah I already know alot about anodizing. I was just wondering if there was an easier/cheaper way. I eventually plan on making an anodizer for my folder liners I was just wondering if maybe my oven would work for me until I get it made. thanks for the input everybody

To all you Ti makeers and anodizers.
Can alluminum be colored in the same manner as Ti with the same setup? If so do you have to use a specific grade? I have made a couple of small capers with ATS with a brass liner and alum. scales. It would be wild to offer different colors.
anodizing aluminium is a little different than TI, with TI the different colours appear with the different voltages applied.
With aluminium, when you anodize it the oxide on the surface is clear,to colour it you have to soak it in a dye and then seal it.
I've tried using my TI anodizing set up for aluminium but the Soloution I use
(trisodium phosphate TSP ) isn't strong enough to get the proper results
I had a chemistry teacher tell me that I needed to use sulfuric acid, some thing i don't really want to play with.
