What the FOG- Overnighter…Snake with sausage!

Jay what hammock & tarp system is that. Looks like the way I should go!!! More info if possible. Thx.

the tarp is a silnylon warbonnet superfly: https://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/product/superfly.

what i like is that the ridgeline has this reinforcement and according to warbonnet doesn't need seam sealing...been on two rainy overnighters and no leaks so far.

the hammock and suspension i bought from http://www.dutchwaregear.com. it's an 11' long double layer hammock made with hexon 1.0 fabric. you can pick the top and bottom fabrics and the number indicates the fabric's strength & weight. he also sells a single layer and wide versions with built-in bug net, etc. i girth-hitched an 8" long amsteel loop on each end of the hammock and attached a dutchware titanium 'biner as a water break...don't confuse that 1k lbs rated 'biner with the titanium 'biner that he also sells that's only for light loads. the suspension itself consists of polyester webbing/tree huggers (have sewn loops at the ends) and 1/8" thick amsteel rope...one end of that rope i have a figure-8 on a bight and connected to the hammock/'biner and the other end i use a slipped slip knot (just requires one extra step from a normal slip knot) to attach it to the tree hugger.

let me know if you want more info :)

thanks, brian! i love to cook but only thing holding me back from doing it more often outdoors is the extra cleanup required especially during the dry season...i tend to consume at least 4 liters of water on an overnighter and that's only with just two dehydrated meals with the rest no cook food

one of these days i'd like to go car camping and bring cast iron pots, bake bread, stew with fresh vegetables, and all that.

Having lived in Texas where it was dry, I get that. One of the great things about living in a rain forest, lots of water here for clean up :)
