Count me in! That is a very generous offer. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of this. I've used purpleheart too, and I like the wood. Never stabilized it, does it keep its color better when it's stabilized? Just curious.

I use gun stock oil to finish it when it's unstabilized and haven't had the problems that others mention about it oxidizing. The longest I've ever kept a purpleheart knife after completion though is about 6 months. Stabilized purpleheart burns even easier in my opinion, so one must be even more careful during finishing.
