What the latest about Kizer knives?

I haven't much about Kizer on BF since last year, mainly spring and summer posts. Did they die a slow death or are they still trying to be a market player like ZT is?

They are becoming quite popular. Aside from the unquestionable fit, finish, and use of good steel and handle materials, their customer service has been good so far.

I got one and love it. Everything is perfect about it except the pocket clip which could carry lower IMO.

So I showed it to my father who refuses to buy or accept knives because he thinks he has too many. So I flip my Kizer out a week later sayin how much I still love it, and he pulls one out of his pocket and says "well sharpen this one up when you have a chance."

This guy came out of knife buying retirement for a kizer. His is also spot on.

Here's mine.

Own 3 with a 4th on the way, so far nothing but praise for them, very well made.

Oddly though, their website has been down for several days.

They also just released new collabs with matt cucchiara. Nope kizer is alive and well. My only complaint is i cant get anyone to return my emails. I want one of there knives and i requsted a list of the models they make with a bearing system and i cant get them to reply.

Make sure on that before ordering, their website has mistakenly listed all the knives they've done in collaboration with Justin Gingrich as having been done by Matt Cucchiara. I just noticed it this week and passed that on to Justin and he was going to have them fix it.

If this is his site, and I've no reason to doubt that, he is collaborating with them, which is awesome. He also posted here on bf on a couple of kizer threads saying he was.

I want the waved folding kerambit but can't find it anywhere.

For sure, I'd didn't mean to imply he wasn't, just that Kizer's website had some mistakes on the designer listed for some knives.

Errr . . . ummm . . . China!

Much to the chagrin of folks that suffer from Sinophobia, Kizer makes some of the best bang-for-the-buck knives you can buy. And no, I don't believe they're all flippers. But most of them are.

I noticed that glitch too. But the dorado and flashbang have in fact been made into Kizer collabs.

They look interesting. Are they all flippers ? Where are they made (Germany) ?

China. But very nice regardless.

That one can only be bought from a russian retailer, for some reason...

Someone should ask Kizer what's the deal with that karambit. I would, but they have yet to reply my emails. I'm guessing both William and Joyce are still resting/catching up to the emails after returning from SHOT SHOW 2015 or something.

There's a handful on non-flippers, like the 4403 series and the 5414A3. They all are fantastic. My only complaint has always been the fact that early on they only made their knives tip down, but they seem to be correcting that lately.

I may be wrong but I believe Smokey Mountain Knives is Kizer's main US distributor/collaborator for the US market.

Anyone know if this is true?

BladeHQ also carries a large selection as well as a few other sites. Apparently BladeHQ has most of the Kizers on discount at the moment.

. . . . I will continue to purchase American made knives while I still can.
