Just added a reply with an edit to the Pacific Cut-BM message

My post and edit are gone and there is a heap of advertising crap.....computer games or something
Are we hacked ?

Nope.....just checked again.
My "today" posts are not there....there is an older one. And the computer game adverts are still there.

It is great. And you really need to buy it.

I asked Mark McWillis when he ran the BM Forum and he said he THOUGHT the steel was 440C, but it was "before his time".
I haven't used it a real lot but I suspect that it is 440C..... Holds an edge and seems quite tough.
The sheath is ABS plastic and well designed...except that the glued-on belt loop snapped off when I sat on the ground a month or so back. No worries,,there are belt slots around the edges of the sheath.

If they are asking a reasonable price, get it.


Oops......just noticed you said "Bushmaster by PC"........mine is a Benchmade, USA.
I do seem to recall a PC model....the only difference I can recall was that the BM one had a false edge and the PC one didn't.
Don't know about steel, etc on the PC knife but I have owned other PC knives and liked them.

Just tried to "refresh" the page.....still "hacked'.
Funny thing : UPSTARTCROWE"S last post shows : "Alibuba " where it usually says something like "IP logged" and one of the games advertised is "Alibuba"

Really odd!

Thanks, Mike, Dog.....seems to be working for everyone except me.
Have done everything but reboot.....next step.
Funny.....other threads are ok.
Something happened when I tried to edit. I sometimes find the message i am editting "sends" automatically if I hit "enter" to move down a line. Might be related.
And the "Alibu" entry where UPSTARTCROWE's "IP logged" entry should be is suspicious.....

On advice from Ewok, I cleared my cache....fixed.
Still curious about the action that caused the page to be corrupted on my system. seems to have been when I tried to edit.
I have never seen the other stuff (adverts) before.

brian I know you got it now but if it happens again and you don't want to clear out your cache. If you would have hit reload while you are holding down the shift key that would have reloaded it.

I get stuff like that on a couple of the other forums. Heck one changes the background to pink and everyother word is gone. I haven't seen it on this forum but I am sure the (shift reload) would have worked.

Corrupt cache file. Definately. If you're in Win95/98 run scandisk, in NT run chkdsk, on a Mac run Disk First Aid (off of a boot CD if possible) or run Techtools or SNorton utilities.

That one dead cache file may not be the only corrupt file running around, and it's probably the result of crashing.

If you are running W95\98 , start Windows explorer and open the "Windows" folder.Open
the "Temporary Internet Files" folder ,select
all, then delete.It will fill up again soon
enough.
