I think you are dead on. After looking at it over and over it is definitely some kind of machining on metal and it could be just a portion of the texture pattern that would be on a titanium folder. Which, if Busse made a folder it would have to be one solid piece of metal . . . hmmmmm . . .:confused:
 
I hope it is a sample of cut outs to optimize weight/balance for a Busse Combat 'Hawk.
 
A throwing star??? An injection mold???

I can't figure it out. Symmetrical, but not mirror images, and it looks like the start of another set of flutes at the bottom.

Looking forward to the next clue...
 
There was a clue? All I saw was an unrecognizable photo that could have been of the inside of a carburetor.
